93% foreign tourists are ‘Ambassadors of Bangladesh’

DHAKA: As many as 93 percent out of total foreign tourists, who visited Bangladesh, encourage others for traveling to Bangladesh.

In the eyes of some of the foreign tourists, ‘Bangladesh is the most photogenic country’, some holidaymakers acknowledge Bangladesh ‘as the best country of the world’.

Most of the foreigners, after returning home from Bangladesh, wrote on their blogs about Bangladesh to encourage others in visiting the country as like ambassadors of Bangladesh.

These pictures were revealed from a survey conducted jointly by Dhaka University, Daffodil University and Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute.

The team has found this information after a thorough survey on a given period of 90 days over the foreigners who recently visited Bangladesh.

The team has already prepared the survey report which to be published in some international journals soon.

A team of 20 Spanish tourists has visited Bangladesh at the end of last year. Their team leader Miguel Masies asserted ‘Bangladesh is such a country, where there is no Tajmahal or Rajasthan’.

‘But every street of the country is alive. It has endless natural beauty, life, Ganga-Jamuna and mangrove forest. This country is called as the ‘Land of Rivers’; also ‘Land of Life’, he added.

Prior to visit Bangladesh, this team had visited India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bhutan.

An Austrian tourist also said that Bangladesh is the ‘third best country’ in his list, first is Cuba.

Another tourist has said, “You’d know that you are in Bangladesh when somebody would greet you with a smiling face outside your hotel, would ask you to take a cup of tea with them and will invite you to visit their house later. If that doesn’t happen, you should know you are not in Bangladesh, you are in somewhere else”.

‘Trip to Bangladesh’ founder Mahmud Hasan Khan informed the media that the foreigners mostly love the villages of Bangladesh. “Nobody has ever questioned about the security of Bangladesh”, he added.

According to the survey team, some 0.5 to 3.59 percent holidaymakers asked about the accommodation facility and 3.08 percent enquired about the security prior to the visit.
