SAP keen to work for building Digital Bangladesh

DHAKA: SAP, one of the biggest software companies in the world, showed its keen interest in playing a supportive role in building a digital Bangladesh to put the country on a faster track of development.

Peter Gartenberg, Managing Director of SAP India, in an exclusive interview with banglanews Tuesday said, “We are able to do a lot to make profitable the losing concerns like Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Bangladesh Railway.”

Appreciating the Prime Minister’s call for building a digital Bangladesh, he expressed his eagerness to work in the sectors like aviation, railway, telecommunications, banking, energy, food, and health.

SAP has already started working with Bashundhara Group, one of the biggest industrial conglomerates in the country.

Besides, the German-based software multinational is working with at least 20 companies in the country, including Rahim Afrooz group and Vialtex.

Established in 1972, SAP is the 3rd-highest revenue-earning company in the world.

It is working in over 120 countries across the world. World-renowned companies like IBM, Frankfurt Stock Exchange and New York Stock Exchange use SAP’s software solutions.
