DHAKA: Investors witnessed gain in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Sunday amid hartal.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index rose over 43 points to stand at 4,244 at the close on the first trading day of the week.
Trade deals stood at 139,211 with transaction at Tk 4,984 million. Of the issues traded, 133 advanced, 140 declined and 14 remained unchanged.
UCBL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 242 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were MPETROLEUM, MERCANBANK, ONEBANKLTD, IFIC, CITYBANK, SOUTHEASTB, NBL, BEXIMCO and ALARABANK .
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8,263 by gaining over 76 points.
Out of the issues traded, 82 gained, 120 declined and 13 remained unchanged.
