DHAKA: Leaders of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) are holding an urgent meeting with Home Minister MK Alamgir and higher authorities of Labor Ministry and officers of intelligence agencies on Tuesday noon.
The meeting started at around 12:30pm at home ministry amid continuous workers’ unrest in Ashulia and adjacent garment hubs.
Former president of BGMEA Abdus Salam Morshedi, also Bangladesh Exporters Association president, confirmed the matter to banglanews.
BGMEA sources said owners of apparel industries sought home minister’s intervention to control the unrest.
