DHAKA: Foreign Exchange reserve in Bangladesh Bank (BB) on Thursday crossed $18 billion.
Confirming the matter, assistant spokesperson of country’s central bank AFM Asaduzzaman told banglanews24.com that for the positive trend of remittances and controlling unnecessary imports the reserve of forex is more than $18.05 billion.
BB officials’ said that the amount of reserve will help meet up the country’s expenditure for next six months. It will also help face any greater risk to the economy.
Reserve was only $7 billion when the incumbent government took the power in 2009.
