IFIC Bank signs deal with Banglalink

DHAKA: IFIC Bank Limited, one of the leading financial institutions of the country, signed an agreement with Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd (Banglalink), one of the fastest growing mobile service providers of the country, to provide IFIC mobile banking services to Banglalink customers.

Banks corporate communication and branding division made the disclosure in a press release.

Shah A Sarwar, Managing Director (MD) & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IFIC Bank Limited signed the agreement with Ziad Shatara, MD and CEO of Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd. at the Corporate Head Office of Banglalink in city’s Gulshan-1 area.

Ashim Chowdhury, Head of Business Project Delivery, Mohammad Monirul Islam, Head Mobile Banking Division, Tasnuva Tarek, Head of Business and Ariful Hasan Khan, Head of Operation of Mobile Banking Division of IFIC Bank were present during the sign ceremony.

From Banglalink, Mr. Shihab Ahmad (Chief Commercial Officer), Mr. Solaiman Alam (Marketing Director), Ms. Irum Iqbal (Head of Marketing Division – Value Added Services, Data, Devices) and Rashed Hasan (M-Commerce Manager) were also present at the signing ceremony.

The agreement will enable banglalink subscribers to access and avail IFIC mobile banking services through their mobile phones from anywhere in Bangladesh.

The IFIC Mobile Banking services will have all features of general mobile banking including Cash in (Deposit), Cash out (withdraw), Fund transfer and remittance facilities. The service will also include a unique option of Bangla menu along with a regular English menu. Banglalink customers will be able to use the menu by dialing USSD short code of *255# after registration.

Customers will be able to receive notification SMS after each successful transaction. Customer complaints and queries will be handled by dialing IFIC contact centre number 16255.

IFIC Bank Limited was set up in 1976 as a joint venture between the Government of Bangladesh and sponsors in the private sector with the objective of working as a finance company within the country and setting up joint venture banks/financial institutions aboard.

Banglalink is the second largest mobile operator in Bangladesh with more than 28 million subscribers, and has a simple mission to start something new.
