DHAKA: The 19th Dhaka International Trade Fair-2014 began in city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area on Saturday.
The premier of the country Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the fair at Bangabandhu International Conference Center at 11:00am.
At the inaugural session, she said that the government is dedicated to help the businessmen to achieve a good economical condition in the country. She also expected to reach the 30.5 billion dollars export target at the current fiscal year.
Sheikh Hasina also asked the factory owners to ensure quality of the products and be careful about the overall compliance issue of their factories.
However, the month-long fair will remain open for all from 10:00am to 10:00pm everyday. The ticket price is Tk 30 for adults and Tk 20 for minors.
Some 12 foreign countries along with local entrepreneurs are taking part in DITF-2014 to showcase their products. Around 471 stalls and shops are going to be installed in the fair this year.
Confirming the matter to banglanews, Commerce Secretary Mahbub Ahmed said that every stalls and shops must have fire extinguisher for safety reason.
