Bourses end higher Wednesday

DHAKA: Investors witnessed minor gain in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Wednesday.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, rose over 55 points to stand at 4,640 at the close on the fourth trading day of the week.

The volume of transactions stood Tk 170,405 million with 8,348 trade deals.   

Of the issues traded, 191 advanced, 83 declined and 21 remained unchanged.

PADMAOIL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 286 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were MPETROLEUM, ACTIVEFINE, SQURPHARMA LANKABAFIN, OLYMPIC, SPPCL, CONFIDCEM, GP and DELTALIFE.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 9,114 by gaining over 117 points.

Out of the issues traded, 165 gained, 54 declined and 13 remained unchanged.
