DHAKA: Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said that the commerce ministry would definitely write to the US government by April 15 regarding the Generalized System of Preference (GSP).
Ahmed announced the deadline while speaking at a city hotel on Thursday.
The minister said:" “We import very few goods under GSP. But even then we are working hard to get back the privilege for the sake of the image of our business.’
He also said: “Hopefully all the conditions proposed by USA for the restoration of GSP privilege will be fulfilled by March 30. Then the commerce ministry will send a letter to US authorities.”
