DHAKA: National Board of Revenue (NBR) chairman Md. Ghulam Hussain said that there will be no corporate taxes after five years.
Corporate taxes will also be reduced from upcoming budget, he added.
The NBR chairman was addressing a press conference at NBR office in city’s Segun Bagicha area Thursday morning.
Ghulam Rahman said that thirty-seven percent taxes are taken currently as corporate income tax, which will be reduced soon.
This reduction will increase tax collections, he hoped.
According to the NBR boss, the new areas of taxes will fill up the deficit from the corporate taxes.
Ghulam Hussain informed media that the NBR is cordially working to make Bangladesh a mid-income nation by 2021.
