DHAKA: Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Lee Jung asked businessmen of the country to boost up their investment in Bangladesh in reducing trade imbalance between the two countries.                       

The Chinese diplomat came up with the plea while addressing a discussion meeting organized by Diplomatic Correspondent Association of Bangladesh (DCAB) at the National Press Club on Thursday noon.

Lee Jung said the bilateral trade between Bangladesh and China is around $10 billion. But, still there is a trade deficit between the two countries and Bangladesh has to come forward to attract the Chinese investors.        

Regarding the buying submarine from China, he said, “As a well-wisher state we want to see Bangladesh as militarily powerful country and India has nothing to worry about it.”    

DCAB President Moinul Islam and general secretary Angur Nahar Monti also spoke.
