Stocks witness fall Wednesday

DHAKA: Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Wednesday.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over 12 points only to stand at 4,660 at the close on the fourth trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 99,169 with volume of transactions at Tk 4,507 million.

Of the issues traded, 155 advanced, 110 declined and 24 remained unchanged.

PADMAOIL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 447 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were BSC, MPETROLEUM, SQURPHARMA, OLYMPIC, BSCCL, GP, SINGERBD, JAMUNAOIL and LAFSURCEML.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 9099 by dropping over 37 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 103 gained, 96 declined and 27 remained unchanged.
