Bourses see fall Monday

DHAKA: Investors witnessed sharp fall in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Monday.

The Dhaka Stocks Exchange board index, DSEX, shed over 53 points to stand at 4,466 at the close on the second trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 80,946 with transaction at Tk 2,989 million.
    
Of the issues traded, 67 advanced, 188 declined and 34 remained unchanged.

EMERALDOIL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 198 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were BSC, SQURPHARMA, LAFSURCEML, BSCCL, BDBUILDING, PADMAOIL, NTLTUBES, QSMDRYCELL and MPETROLEUM.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8,698 by dropping over 103 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 35 gained, 160 declined and 16 remained unchanged.
