DHAKA: Robi Axiata Ltd, country’s leading mobile phone operator, has been recognized as the best Operating Company (OpCo) for round the year excellence in performance for the year 2013 at the Axiata senior leadership forum in Colombo recently.                                       

Robi has also won the award for Best Market Performance of the year, says a press release.                

The award recognizes the best OpCo that achieved the highest revenue growth in relevance to the entire market size where it operates.

To ensure a fair comparison between OpCos of the Axiata, the scores were normalised to take into account the difficulty of achieving growth at different stages of market maturity.

Robi achieved the highest performance standard, recording three times better growth than that of its competitors after normalising the score.  

Robi was also awarded the Most Improved Business Performer as it has achieved the largest Year over Year (YoY) improvement amongst all the OpCos, recording a 50% increase in its YoY growth multiple after normalising for market maturity.             

Based on the HR assessment results conducted by external consultants, Robi has also been awarded with People Management Award.

The operator has demonstrated the passion for people that Robi holds for its employees to engage them towards a high performance culture.

Additionally, Robi also won two more milestone awards. The first Milestone Award for Robi was for achieving the number two operator position in Bangladesh market in terms of revenue share in 2013, and the second award was for HR leadership where Robi’s Chief Human Resources Officers (CHRO), Matiul Islam Nowshad was recognized with a milestone award for HR leadership.
     
Robi Chief Executive Officer Supun Weerasinghe said, “Our employees’ passion to perform and achieve excellence that has been acknowledged and has led to Robi winning this series of awards.”
