Stocks end lower Monday

DHAKA: Country’s stock market marked fall again in its price indices on Monday.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over 41 points only to stand at 4,624 at the close on the second trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 89,173 with volume of transactions at Tk 4358 million.

Of the issues traded, 68 advanced, 194 declined and 24 remained unchanged.

LAFSURCEML topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 377 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were MPETROLEUM, PADMAOIL, GP, SOUTHEASTB, HEIDELBCEM, NBL, OLYMPIC, SQURPHARMA and CONFIDCEM.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8,902 by dropping over 94 points.

 Out of the issues traded, 42 gained, 157 declined and 13 remained unchanged.
