DHAKA: Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is going to provide Bangladesh $1.2 billion assistance in the upcoming fiscal year.
JICA Chief Representative Takuo Toda made the disclosure after a meeting with Planning Minster AHM Mustafa Kamal at the ministry in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar of the capital on Tuesday evening.
Takuo Toda told journalists that JICA proposed to fund for power and physical infrastructures development in Bangladesh.
They are here to support Bangladesh to become middle-income country by 2021, he added.
Planning Commission member and Senior Secretary Hedayetullah Al Mamun and Secretary Bhuiyan Shafiqul Islam were among others present at the meeting.
