DHAKA: Investors witnessed sharp fall in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Sunday.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange broad index shed over 56 points to stand at 4,498 at the close on the first trading day of the week.
Trade deals stood at 88,735 with transaction at Tk 3785 million.
Of the issues traded, 93 advanced, 161 declined and 29 remained unchanged.
GP topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 179 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were HEIDELBCEM, MATINSPINN, EMERALDOIL, BSCCL, ORIONPHARM, MPETROLEUM, EHL, LAFSURCEML and PADMAOIL.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8669 by dropping over 93 points.
Out of the issues traded, 64 gained, 130 declined and 20 remained unchanged.
