Agora fined Tk1.5 lakhs

DHAKA: A mobile court fined Tk. 1.5 lakhs to chain super store Agora, sister concern of  Rahim Afroz, for selling products without approval of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institute (BSTI).

BSTI and Dhaka district administration with the help of police led the drive and fined superstore Agora’s Simanta Square shop as it does not take legal registration and license for selling products and labeling fake BSTI-seal on products.

A few days ago, a mobile court fined Agora Gulshan shop Tk 25 thousands for selling mangoes by using formalin.

Following the day, Agora published a high costly advertisement at a national day to conceal the real news and the daily fulfilled Agora’s intention.

It is the common scenario of the super shop Agora to sell its adulterate products by mixing various harmful integrands for long days.

A regular consumer of Agora said to banglanews that mobile court should give sentence Agora besides fine cash for its fraud activities.

On August 21 last year, BSTI and mobile court fined Agora Hatirpul shop for selling expired curd and formalin mixed mango.
