DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank deputy director Mostafizur Rahman has been detained once again with Yaba tablets.
Regarding the matter, the central bank of the country, on Tuesday, sent letter to police seeking details information about the detainees.
Sources said that deputy general manager of BB’s Human Resources department M Imdadul Haque wrote the letter to Mirpur thana officer-in-charge.
But Mirpur thana OC Salauddin Ahmed denied receiving such type of letter.
Mirpur Thana Police detained Mostafizur Rahman on April 15, this year, with 50 pieces of Yaba tablets.
Police sources said that, he is now in jail.
Earlier, Mostafizur Rahman was detained on last year’s December. At that time, he had to spend 47 days in jail.
General Manager of BB’s Human Resources department M Ajijur Rahman said noticing the news published by banglanews24.com on April 25, the central bank sent letter to Mirpur thana seeking information whether detainee Mostafizur is Bangladesh Bank officer.
Mostafizur Rahman’s picture and service form were attached with the letter, he added.
Bangladesh Bank sources said that he will be sacked if evidence against him was found.
