DHAKA: Finance Minister AMA Muhith has proposed to decrease the supplementary duty from 5 percent to 50 percent on the daily necessaries in the proposed budget of the fiscal year 2014-1015.
The finance minister came up with the proposal while placing budget before the parliament on Thursday afternoon.
He proposed to decrease duty on SIM cards, fisheries, frozen shrimps, dairy, packaged food, juice, beauty and toiletries products, surface active product used as soap, detergent, particle board, silk clothe.
He also proposed to decrease duty on garments products, textile fabrics, gas tube, glass, rough diamond, imitation jewelry, petroleum, utensil used for cooking, two and four stoke-run auto-rickshaw and many others products.
