DHAKA: Finance Minister AMA Muhith, also ruling Awami League, lawmaker, on Sunday categorically said Gono Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain is a ‘failed person’.

The finance minister made the remark in response to a question of a journalist on Sunday after a meeting British-American Tobacco and Dhaka Tobacco representatives at the secretariat.

On Saturday, Dr Kamal said the finance minister is mentally sick at a post budget meeting of Nagarik Oikya held in city’s Mirpur.

Muhith commented that Dr Kamal Hossain is a failed person and his words are not matter at all.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman provided him a scope in spite of becoming a nonpolitical young person, he said adding but, Kamal couldn’t do anything.

In response to a question of joining Gono Forum, finance minister said that he joined in 1993 after Dr Kamal requested but left in 1994.

Muhith also told the journalists that procedure of appointing chairman and forming committee for Basic Bank is underway after prime minister’s approval.
