DHAKA: The service tenure of state-run Sonali Bank Managing Director and CEO Pradip Kumar Dutta is going be extended. 

A reliable source said that he would be appointed for one more year for the post though there were so many allegations against him. 

The sources also said that Sonali Bank board of directors sent a recommendation to finance ministry in this regard. And high officials of the government showed positive signs on the matter.

Banks and Financial Institutions Division sources said that an order may be issued soon in this connection.

On June 17, 2012, Pradip Kumar took the post of Managing Director of Sonali Bank. 

Earlier, he worked as managing director (MD) of Rajshahi Agricultural Development Bank. He was born in 1953 and studied on applied chemistry.
