DHAKA: Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain on Tuesday categorically said Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) would be reformed soon.

He came up with the disclosure while addressing a seminar titled ‘planned urbanization and development: private sector under public private partnership’ at a city hotel in the afternoon.

The minister said that changes of the capital development authority would be seen within very short span of time.

There are some allegation against RAJUK, such as irregularities, charges of corruption and perversion, he added. “They will soon be eliminated.”

The International Business Forum of Bangladesh (IBFB) organized the seminar.

Earlier, Poribesh Bachao Andolon (POBA), a common forum of environmentalists and citizens, organized a roundtable discussion in Dhaka demanding restructuring RAJUK.

Mentioning RAJUK is a corrupt organization, speakers said there that Secretarial complexity grasps the pace of the institution.

The office of the minister has already been shifted to RAJUK.
