DHAKA: Banglalink, leading mobile-phone of the country, hosted it’s anticipated and highly coveted Employee Awards Program-2014 recently, at the Raowa Convention Center.
The merit-based award program recognized the top performers of the previous year and their contributions towards the organization’s success. This award program is the first of its kind to celebrate the success of skilled performers.
Banglalink has seen exponential growth in the last nine years, shaping much of the industry by way of innovation, speed and agility, a press release said.
The key behind this success is the dedication, hard labor & performance of its workforce. Through a systemic approach, Banglalink has harnessed not only the organization’s performance but maximum potential across all teams and individuals.
This performance-centric approach is reflected in Banglalink’s accelerated growth, segmented approach and new product innovation.
The Banglalink workforce is energetic, engaged and highly productive hence picking the best out of them was challenging.
To pick the cream of the crop, a jury board comprising of a cross functional team with representatives from all departments was formed, responsible for collecting nominations from across the organization.
The eligibility and accomplishments of each nominee were then validated against parameters such as compliance to rules and regulations and code of conduct, performance rating in 2013, success on critical project, contribution in revenue growth and cost efficiency, tenure in Banglalink, etc.
This year, awards were presented in four categories: The Employee of The Year (Gold & Silver), The Leader of The Year, The Innovator of The Year and The Region of The Year.
The Employee of the Year 2013-Gold went to M Majid-ul Alam, BSS Associate Manager, Engineering, and the Silver went to M Mahbubul Alam Bhuiyan, Head of Mass Market and Loyalty & Partnership, Marketing.
The Leader of the Year-2013 was Abdus Saboor, Supply Chain Deputy Director, Accounting & Finance, and the Innovator of the Year-2013 award went to Muhammad Hasan, Product and Services Deputy Manager, Product & Services.
The Region of the Year-2013 was Bogra Region, and the award was presented to Maruf Mizan, Head of Mass Market Sales & Distribution and Sales.
The winners were all acknowledged for their valued contribution and critical business contribution in 2013.
The event was hosted by Nizar El Assaad, Chief Information & Customer Experience Officer of Banglalink and renowned anchor Naveed Mahmud. The attendants were entertained by mime acts and live music.
Ziad Shatara, CEO of Banglalink, in his speech expressed his heartiest congratulations to the winners.
He emphasized the importance of performance based culture and encouraged all to bring out the best in them and maintain their commitment to deliver customers the next generation of technologies and value propositions and in turn maximizing stakeholders return.
