DHAKA: The International Convention-2014 of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) was held from 1 to 5 June at Melaka, Malaysia where about 250 representatives of 33 CILT member countries attended the convention.
Bangladesh team comprising 10 CILT members led by Karar Mahmudul Hassan, FCILT President, CILT Bangladesh, attended the conference.
The conference was hosted by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Malaysia, says a press release.
The organizing committee of the conference provided free booth (3m x 3m) to each CILT member countries at the convention exhibition hall with a view to exhibiting and promoting their respective countries’ business and trade, export items etc.
CILT Bangladesh took part in the exhibition with close cooperation from the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation.
The convention was inaugurated by Yab Datuk Seri Ir Hj Idris Bin Hj Haron, Chief Minister of Melaka and the convention was chaired by CILT’s International President, Dr. Dorothy Chan.
The main focus of the convention was “Sustainable Logistics and Transport of the Future”.
It may be mentioned here that the Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) International was established in 1919 and it received its Royal Charter in 1926.
