BREB chief acknowledges corruption

DHAKA: Rural Electrification Board of Bangladesh (BREB) Chairman Brigadier General Moin Uddin acknowledged that corruption has gripped up is his board.   

He said, “Corruption is increasing in every level in our board and it is tarnishing our image day by day.”   

The BREB boss came up with the acknowledgement at a view-exchange meeting with BREB officials on Saturday morning.

 “We took oath stopping corruption. This will not be continued more. We will publish poster and will announce voice by microphone against corruption,” he said.

He also urged the people not to give bribe to electricity office to get new connection instead of new application. 

Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Nasrul Hamid was present on the occasion.
