DHAKA: Investors witnessed significant gain in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Sunday.

The broad index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, rose over 77 points to stand at 4,487 at the close on the first trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 100,047 with transaction at Tk 3,901 million. Of the issues traded, 136 advanced, 44 declined and 16 remained unchanged.

LAFSURCEML topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 344 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were BEXIMCO, GP, UNITEDAIR, SQURPHARMA, BSCCL, EHL, BSRMSTEEL, BSC and APOLOISPAT.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8540 by gaining over 139 points.

Out of the issues traded, 179 gained, 35 declined and 10 remained unchanged.
