Stocks end lower Monday

DHAKA: Country’s stock market marked fall again in its price indices on Monday.

The broad index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over six points only to stand at 4,480 at the close on the second trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 74,291 with volume of transactions at Tk 3872 million.

Of the issues traded, 98 advanced, 161 declined and 30 remained unchanged.

BEXIMCO topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 213 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were SQURPHARMA, GP, MPETROLEUM, UNITEDAIR, BSCCL, RENATA, PADMAOIL, HEIDELBCEM and ICB.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8,506 by dropping over 33 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 58 gained, 140 declined and 14 remained unchanged.
