Environment in BD is investment friendly now

DHAKA: Deputy Managing Director of International Monetary Fund (IMF) Naoyuki Shinohara opn Wednesday said at present the environment in Bangladesh is affable for investment than any other time of past.

Naoyuki made the assessment at a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her office at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Wednesday.

AKM Shamim Chowdhury, Press Secretary to the premier, briefed the matter to media.

Praising the government for their success in implementing the projects that were financed by IMF, Naoyuki Shinohara said, “We are happy with the success of implementation of IMF financed projects,” Shamim Chowdhury added.

Shamim Chowdhury also said IMF deputy managing director put emphasis on monitoring the banking sector closely.

Sheikh Hasina thanked IMF for their continuous help and said her government has been working for the welfare of the people of Bangladesh.

Ambassador-At-Large M Ziauddin, Abdus Sobhan Sikder, Principal Secretary to the premier, M Abul Kalam Azad, Secretary to PMO and Finance Affairs Secretary Fazle Kabir, among others, was present in the meeting.
