DHAKA: Bangladesh Garment Manufactures & Exporters Association (BGMEA) will pay the due salaries of the workers of Tuba Group on Wednesday.
The BGMEA leaders made the disclosure after the meeting with the labor leaders on Sunday afternoon.
The authorities said they would pay the salary of May and June at BGMEA building from 10:00 am on that day.
They will also give the salary of July till August 10.
Earlier in the day, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed asked the authorities concerned to pay workers’ salary.
He made the plea while talking to journalists after the meeting with the leaders of BGMEA in Karwan Bazar area of the city.
The minister said they ordered the BGMEA authorities to pay the due within one or two days.
Former president of BGMEA Tipu Munshi, its vice president Shahidullah Azim and vice president Riaz Uddin were among others present at the meeting.
