DHAKA: Tuba workers will get their salary for the month of July on Sunday.
The decision came from a tripartite meeting of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and workers with Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan on Saturday noon.
The BGMEA has already paid the salary to the workers for the months of May and June on Wednesday and Thursday.
Earlier the agitated workers, who were on hunger strike since July 28 at Badda of the capital demanding payment of May, June and July and festival bonus, staged a huge demonstration.
Earlier on Thursday, BGMEA president Atiqul Islam told banglanews that 16 teams have been working in five temporary booths to pay the salaries and the authorities also monitoring the situation intensively.
BGMEA has managed Tk 2.36 crore to pay the wages of May and June for a total of 1,427 workers of the factories.
