DHAKA: The High Court on Sunday issued a rule upon the government to explain within four-week why should not be granted bail to Destiny Group chairman and its managing director (MD) over money laundering case.
A vocation bench of Justice Mizanul Haque and Justice Jafar Ahmed issued the rule on Sunday.
M Badiuzzaman moved for the bail while Khurshid Alam Khan moved on behalf of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Dhaka deputy commissioner and authorities concerned were asked to explain the rule within the stipulated time.
Deputy Director Mozahar Ali Sardar and Assistant Director Tofiqul Islam of ACC filed the case on July 31, 2012.
The court denied the bail of Destiny Group Chairman and MD M Rafiqul Amin and Destiny 2000 Ltd Chairman Mohammad Hossain who surrendered on October 11, 2012.
