Govt shouldn’t do more business: Muhith

DHAKA: Finance minister AMA Muhith categorically said government should not do more business.

He came up with observation in dividend receiving programme at meeting room of Finance Ministry on Thursday morning. 

Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL), IECB and BDDL handed over cheques of TK 14-crore, TK45.46-crore and 10-crore respectively as dividend for fiscal year 2012-13 to the minister against the government shares in the companies.

Finance Minister says donor agencies have to be appreciated sometimes. He also explained that as per concept given by World Bank, IDCOL had been established. Today, IDCOL has emerged as a successful company. 

After cheque receiving, Muhith said many say, ‘government organizations used to loss’. But it achieved profit also in many cases, this is the proof.
