DHAKA: The government will scrutinize the submitted report of Islami Bank Limited with a view to finding out the source of financing to the militants as well as their expenditures.

State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan told media after a meeting on encountering militancy and its prevention at the ministry on Thursday.

He also told journalists that the government would also scrutinize the other reports to be submitted from other Islamic finance institutions.

Besides, it will also monitor the reports of other finance institutions and NGOs regarding their expenditure of money.

In the last month, an order came from the special committee on encountering militancy and its prevention to submit the investment reports of Islamic finance institutions.

Bangladesh Islami Bank submitted their reports in this regard.

The government, later, took the decision of scrutinizing the report.
