DHAKA: Investors witnessed sharp fall in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Monday.
The DSE broad index shed over zero point to stand at 4,554 at the close on the first trading day of the week as trading closed for Janmashtami on Sunday.
Trade deals stood at 148802 with transaction at Tk 6,152 million.
Of the issues traded, 107 advanced, 164 declined and 28 remained unchanged.
KPPL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 514 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were LAFSURCEML, BSRMSTEEL, GP , APOLOISPAT, MJLBD, BEXIMCO, MATINSPINN, SQURPHARMA and CENTRALPHL.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8541 by dropping over 55 points.
Out of the issues traded, 67 gained, 133 declined and 23 remained unchanged.
