DHAKA: Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina, also ruling Awami League president, on Sunday said the growth of industries sector would increase the employment opportunity in the country.
“The government is working for the expansion of the industries sector with a view to boosting up job opportunity for people,” she said.
The premier came up with the assertion while talking to officials of the Industries Ministry during her regular visit to the ministries.
Hasina said, “We made many sectors of industry open for private entrepreneurs after forming the government for the growth of the industries. We have also reformed many government sectors.”
She also added: “We are moving for setting up labor-based industries and working extensively for the expansion of industries to keep economy running.”
Regarding the state-run mills and factories, she said, “We will not sell the mills and factories, which are located on the government land.”
Sheikh Hasina said, “These are sold in very cheap price and these properties cannot be used. As more investment is coming to the country, we will give these properties for foreign investment.”
She further added: “Planned industrialization is necessary in the country. Industrialization and urbanization will be created on the respective areas after conducting survey.”
