DHAKA: Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu on Tuesday said the economic alliance of eight developing Muslim countries, called D-8, would invest in Bangladesh.
A draft will be prepared by November enlisting the sectors in which they are interested to invest.
The minister made the disclosure while briefing the media after a courtesy meeting with D-8 secretary general Dr Sayeed Ali Mohammad Mousavi at industries ministry in the city.
Amu said the investment of D-8 would be joint initiatives. But D-8 will supply the money in the projects.
The ministry will prepare a draft by November after reviewing the possible investment sectors.
In response to a query, he said the alliance have no terms of condition to the ‘to be proposed investment’.
Industries ministry joint secretary Afroza Khan was present.
The member countries of D-8 are Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey.
