DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank (BB) has earned a net profit of Tk 3,352 crore in the fiscal year 2013-14.
The central bank has handed over Tk 1,562.78 crore to the government.
BB Managing Director AFM Asaduzzaman, also spokesperson of the bank, made the disclosure the matter to journalists after the 354th board meeting.
He also said the balance sheet of the bank was prepared by two firms--KPMG Lawyer Gulf Ltd of Dubai and Rahman Rahman Huq (RRH), the member firm of KPMG International in Bangladesh.
The organizations have given Unqualified Opinion to the central bank of the country as the balance sheet was found compatible with international standards, he added.
He also claimed that BB was first to accomplish this success among all the central banks of Asian countries.
