DHAKA: Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith on Saturday said politics of the country has remained stable for eight months.
“The stability in politics of the country for last eight months is satisfactory for the economy; as a result, economic challenges have become easy to face for us.” Muhith said
The minister was addressing a seminar organized by South Asian Network of Economic Research Institute in Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the city.
“Political instability is threat to development, at present the development of multidimensional communication system has been possible for political stability,” Muhith added.
The minister also said, “We have joined in a new management of economy, it’s a complex task where coordination of works is main thing.”
“We have stepped forward to face this coordination challenge through proper plan; besides, we also need to make regional coordination plan,” he said.
He added “To remove the economic problems alone is somewhat difficult; we will have to remove all economic problems jointly.”
Among others, Mashiur Rahman, Prime minister's economic affairs adviser, Dr. Mustafa K. Mujeri, director general of Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies were present at the function.
