DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank (BB) stands by the flood-affected people through directing other banks to raise their corporate social responsibility (CSR).
The central bank, in this regard, on Tuesday asked 39 banks with a circular to extend their CSR activities for the people of flood-hit areas, a BB release said.
The circular has been issued by the Green Banking and CSR Department of the central bank asking the scheduled banks to send mandatory reports on their CSR operations by September 11, the release added.
However, it was mentioned in the circular that the CSR activities is to build a human banking system through different productive programs for the flood-affected people.
It added that the banks have already set an example of human banking system as they have conducted various CSR activities in different fields, including education, health, disaster management, women development and also in the areas of supporting underprivileged people.
