Samoa keen to boost coop on agro-RMG

DHAKA: Tuilaepa Aiono Sailele Malielegaoi, Prime Minister of Independent State of Samoa, expressed his interest to explore possibilities of cooperation with Bangladesh in the areas of agriculture and Ready Made Garments.

He expressed this interest during a call on by Shahriar Alam MP, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, held Wednesday on the sidelines of the third UN Conference on Small Island Developing States' held in Apia, Samoa.

During the meeting, Shahriar Alam sought the support of the Samoan Government to Bangladesh's candidacy to different elections, including Human Rights Council, International Telecommunication Union and Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The State Minister also held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from important small island states like the Marshall islands, Antigua and Barbuda and Dominica.
