DHAKA: The inflow of remittance decreased to US$ 33.14 crore in August in the 2014-15 fiscal year against US$ 149.14 crore in the previous month.
Although the remittance inflow into the country has hit a record high in July, the inflow of remittance dropped by 22 percent in August of the current fiscal. But in comparison with the same month of the FY13-14, the inflow is that of a rise of 13 per cent.
The expatriate Bangladeshis sent US$ 116-crore in remittance in August FY14-15 against US$ 149.14 crore in the previous month which indicates remittance inflow drop by 22 percent.
The private-run Islami Bank received US$ 29.57 crore in inward remittance in August while the state-owned Agrani bank received US$ 13.27 crore, Janata Bank gets US$ 11.58 crore, the BB data showed.
