DHAKA: The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday approved four new projects involving Tk 1,772 crore.
The approval came from a meeting of the ECNEC at NEC conference room at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the city.
After the meeting, planning minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said the projects expenditure was fixed to Tk 1,772 crore where the government would finance Tk 1,736 crore.
The projects include the development of power distribution in Chittagong Zone that will cost Tk 1,099 crore.
Rural infrastructure development project (Comilla, Brahmanbaria and Chandpur) will cost Tk 564 crore.
Another project is on assurance of nutrition and food security through integrated agricultural development that will cost Tk 73 crore, he told the newsmen.
Bridge and viaduct set-up on river Chitra in Narail Sadar upazila will cost Tk 36 crore.
