DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank (BB) governor Dr Atiur Rahman said that according to the report of World Bank, Bangladesh is the eighth remittance receiving country in the world in 2013.
He also said that around 23.5 lakh Bangladeshi expatriates are working in 157 countries of the world.
Atiur Rahman made the disclosure in ‘NRB World Conference-2014’ at a city hotel on Saturday.
Remittance covers 66 percent of country’s total foreign reserve, he added.
