DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank (BB) governor Dr Atiur Rahman claimed that many other countries have accepted BB as a role model in banking sector.
The central bank governor said BB was awarded as a role model and working for building digital Bangladesh.
He made the disclosure while addressing an agreement signing program with Trust Bank and government’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division in BB Janangir Alam conference hall at 3:00pm on Sunday.
ICT Division secretary Nazrul Islam Khan and Trust Bank managing director Ishtiaq Ahmed Chowdhury inked the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
The agreement signed to provide Trust Futuretech Loan for the free-lancers.
Trust Bank sources said the free-lancers can take loan from Tk 20,000 to Tk 70,000.
The bank will provide 70 percent loan of a project while the borrowers have to provide the rest. The duration of this loan will be two years.
Nazrul Islam said the ICT Division has been working to offer motivation and employment for the free-lancers.
They have created around 20 thousands free-lancers and working for making more 70 thousands, he added.
Inspired by the program, Trust Bank came forward to participate in this development sector and they are giving loan on easy terms.
Ishtiaque said Trust Bank has been working in the field of School Banking, Green Banking, Biogas loan and laptop loan for the students.
Trust Bank deputy managing director Abu Zafar Hedayetul Islam chaired the event attended by BB deputy governor SK Sur Chowdhury.
