DHAKA: Tube-light, which is already popular as power and cost saver than regular bulb, is going to be more power saver.
Sources told banglanews that Bangladesh Steel & Engineering Corporation (BSEC) recently has taken some initiatives to make tube-lights more power saver.
The BSEC, however, is going to set up automatic machines to produce tube-lights with low cost, sources added.
They said the changing of 70-year-old machineries will reduce power consumption ratio of tube-lights.
The initiative has been taken under the project of ‘florescent Tube light production by Automatic machine and LED light annexation plant’.
Moreover, BSEC is also going to produce light-emitting diode (LED) bulbs under this project.
Planning commission sources said that BSEC will implement the project from July 2014 to June 2016. Under the project, a plant will be established in city’s Tejgaon by Eastern Tubes Limited.
Nevertheless, the project, which will save about 250-megawatt electricity, will cost around Tk 40.5 lakh.
