DHAKA: Walton has already won hearts of Nepalese for its high standard products and their affordable prices, said former Nepalese Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal.
Madhav, as chief guest, in his speech, applauded the leading Bangladeshi brand Walton while addressing its Nepal nationwide distribution launching ceremony at Grand Ball Room of Hotel Everest in Kathmandu on Friday.
However, the former Nepal PM, appreciating the Walton products, hoped that the Bangladeshi company would continue its success in maintaining quality and be able to expand its market in the region.
Bangladesh State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, who was also present as special guest, said that Walton is a pride of Bangladesh.
Moreover, recalling the contribution of Nepal to Bangladesh’s war of independence, the junior minister hoped that Walton would go forward in Nepal with the support of its people.
Nevertheless, Bangladesh ambassador to Nepal Mashfi Binte Shams and Walton ambassador and also popular actor Ilias Kanchan also spook as special guests.
Executive Director of Rida Incorporated Pvt Ltd, sole distributor of Walton in Nepal, Nawshaba Sarfaraz presided over the launching ceremony.
Executive Director of Walton (Foreign Trade Monitoring) Nazrul Islam Sarkar, Executive Director (PR and Media) Humayun Kabir, Operative Director of Creative and Publication Department Uday Hakim, Executive Director (PR and Media) Firoz Alam, Chairman of Rida Incorporated Pvt Ltd Dr Mokhtar Alam Ansari and its Managing Director Sarfaraz Ansari were also present along with Bangladesh embassy senior officials, top businessmen, distinguished guests and journalists at the launching ceremony followed by a cultural program.
Sources said from the launching ceremony, it began selling of Walton electronic products across Nepal.
At present, Walton products are being exported to 17 countries, and hoped to be exported to at least 50 countries in few years.
