DHAKA: Two new Boeing aircrafts (737-800) are expected to be added in Bangladesh national carrier by mid of next year.
The crafts, which will have 162 seats each, are named ‘Meghdut’ and ‘Mayurpankhi’.
They will also have 12 seats each in business category.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday selected the names from the list and later, Civil Aviation Authority Bangladesh (CAAB) finalized them.
However, the CAAB signed a deal with Boeing Company, an American multinational corporation, for 10 crafts of new generation.
Four of them (777-300 ER), called Palki, Arun Alo, Akash Pradip and Rangapravat, have already been added with the carrier.
They were also named with the suggestions of the PM.
