DHAKA: A three-day e-commerce fair, organized by ‘Computer Jogot’, commenced at the premises of Public Library at Shahbagh in city from Thursday in a bid to extend the online market in the country and to promote the younger entrepreneurs.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources affairs Nasrul Hamid MP inaugurated the fair with the slogan ‘Business with the touch of Click’.
The minister said that information-technology sector is bigger than power sector. But uninterrupted power supply is needed for the development of the sector.
He also said, “We have a potential young generation which is not available in any other country of the world.”
With ‘Computer Jogot’ Publisher Nazma Quader in the chair, fair convener Abdul Wahed Tamal delivered welcome speech.
Beside, Mustafa Jabbar, past president, Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS), Jatiya Mahila Sangstha Chairman Professor Mamtaj Begum Advocate, Arild Klokkerhaug, the director of Ekhanei.com, Mohammad Abdur Rauf, chief executive officer (CEO) of Arang among other attended in the inaugural ceremony.
Leading online news portal of the country banglanews24.com along with 15 other organizations joined as partners in the fair.
Besides, Ekhanei.com and Tathyaapa were the platinum sponsors of the fair while ‘Team Engine’ and ‘webtv.nex’ were the gold sponsors and ‘Aarong’ were the silver sponsor.
