CHITTAGONG: Chittagong City Corporation (DCC) Thursday announced a Tk 741.51 crore budget for 2010-11 fiscal, giving priority to removal of the perennial problem of water logging from the port city.
The newly elected CCC mayor, M Manjur Alam, announced the budget in a press conference at Abdus Sattar Auditorium in the port city.
“Under the new budget, a Tk 50 crore tender will be invited to develop infrastructures for removing the water logging, a major problem facing the city-dwellers,” said Manjur.
Different projects would also be undertaken to build Chittagong as a digital city apart from constructing deep-sea port, world-class hospital and a convention center in the port city.
In the last fiscal year, the CCC budget was Tk 627.50 crore
